A report of a child being hit with a belt was made at 11:32 a.m. Monday in Albert Lea.

Theft, damage reported

A theft in progress regarding a boys’ black and green bicycle was reported at 1:56 p.m. Monday at 416 Edgewood Ave. The suspect was described as a white man with short dark hair in his 20s.

A back window was reported broken on a van at 8:57 a.m. Monday at 612 Johnson St., Hartland.

1 arrested for disorderly conduct

Law enforcement arrested Trevor Allen Vanryswyk, 38, for disorderly conduct, fleeing on foot, obstruction, fifth-degree assault and an order for protection violation at 3:53 p.m. Monday on the 1500 block of West Front Street. Vanryswyk was arrested after someone was reported on the playground at Sibley Elementary School swearing, yelling and pointing at the building. A bike and a sledgehammer were found in the area of the playground, and Vanryswyk allegedly yelled and swore while running through a nearby grocery store.
