Lucille Malmgren, 1927-2017

Family and friends of Lucille Bertha Marie (Graminske) Malmgren will gather from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Private services will take place. The Rev. Lucille, 90, died on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at her home.

Lucille B. Malmgren was born on Sept. 5, 1927, in St. James, the daughter of Otto and Lucy (Rinne) Graminske. She attended and graduated from St. James High School in 1945. Lucille worked as a waitress in St. James, as a clerk in Michigan City, Indiana, and in laundry and dry cleaning in East End, Wisconsin.

On Aug. 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to Charles Haack in St. James. The couple later divorced. Lucille then married Theodore Malmgren on Dec. 22, 1959, in St. James. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and reading.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Nancy E. Jensen of Albert Lea; grandson, David (Teri) Jensen in Mankato; great-grandchildren Cody, Christina and Alec.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Erwin and Arnold Graminske.
