“Art of Hardanger,” a presentation by Solvieg Peterson, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at 1602 Keystone Drive, according to a press release. The event is free and open to the public
The event is part of the Dorothy Godtland lecture series out of The Albert Lea Art Center.
Hardanger embroidery — or Hardangersøm — is a form of embroidery, and is named after a region in southwest Norway in the county of Hordaland by the Hardanger Fjord. It is sometimes called whitework embroidery.
Peterson has done Hardanger for quite a few years and has created many gifts of Hardanger for family and friends. She has a shop in her home and there will be supplies and samples. Her Christmas tree is full of Hardanger decorations.
