A.L. girls’ hockey fall to Rochester Century on the road

The Albert Lea girls’ hockey team hit the road Saturday in hopes of getting back on the winning track after dropping its last six games.

Despite scoring five goals, the Tigers were unable to stop the offensive pace of the Panthers as they fell, 9-5.

Freshman Jaiden Venem scored one of the goals, making that her first goal as a part of the varsity squad. Also scoring for the Tigers were Maddy Carstens, Ally Rasmussen, Hannah Johnson and Katie Steven.

All five of Albert Lea’s goals came off an assist. Mia Fjelsta, Esther Yoon, Carstens, Rasmussen and Johnson each recorded an assist in the game.

The Tigers fall to 2-9 on the season and will look to right the ship on Tuesday, when they hit the road to take on the Austin Packers.
