Funeral services for David Albert George Nelson, 74, of Glenville will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Myrtle. The Rev. David Efflandt will officiate. Interment will be at Wanderer’s Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. David died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at Prairie Senior Cottages.

David Albert George Nelson was born July 3, 1943, in Albert Lea, the son of Norville and Elsie (Bley) Nelson. He grew up in rural Glenville and attended District No. 77 school, graduating from Glenville High School. On July 9, 1961, David married Marlene Mae Broitzman at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was a member of Future Farmers of America, 4-H, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Bethlehem Lutheran Church council. David enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, riding horses, photography, water skiing, camping and being with his livestock.

David is survived by his wife, Marlene Nelson; sons Ricky (Audra) Nelson and their children Sophia and Grant, Rodney Nelson and Bradley (Irene) Nelson and their children Reece and Justine; sister, Bonnie (Warren) Mason, and their children Christopher (Michelle) Mason and Alexander (Kerri) Mason; sisters-in-law Betty Broitzman and her children Terry Newgard, Julie DeGeneres and Karen (Ken) Black, and Carolyn (Ron) Yocum and their children Windy Yocum and Greg (Shelley) Yocum; and brother-in-law, Duane (Debbie) Broitzman, and their children Dawn Broitzman, Jeff (Cari) Broitzman, Kelly (Shane) Christensen, Jenny Broitzman, Joni (Ray) Tolman and Nikki Broitzman.

David was preceded in death by his son, Wayne David Nelson; parents Norville C. and Elise Nelson; parents-in-law Martin and Ingebor Broitzman; and grandparents Albert and Josie Nelson and George and Caroline Bley.
