Funeral services for Laura Seifert of Elgin, Illinois, formerly of Albert Lea, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills.

Laura died at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin on Wednesday, December 20. She was 94.

She was born on June 27, 1923, in Lake Mills, the daughter of John and Clara (Jacobson) Bergstad. She grew up on a farm in Vinge, Iowa, and married and shared her life with Dale Seifert, who died in 2008.

She was the loving mother of Richard Seifert of Fort Collins, Colorado, Vern (Judy) Seifert of LaCrescent and Linda Baier of Gilberts, Illinois; cherished grandmother of six; great-grandmother of 13; and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter-in-law, Marge Seifert; son-in-law, Mike Baier; sisters Lucile “Tootie” Lunning, Hazel O’Rourke, Ode Hamson and Cora Teigen; brothers Benny, Joseph, Eddie, Carl and Martin Bergstad; as well as nieces and nephews.

The memories she gave her children and grandchildren will be with them forever and always.
