Report of shots fired in area of Albert Lea apartment building

Shots were reportedly fired Wednesday afternoon in the area of the Landmark Apartment building.

Albert Lea police were dispatched after 5 p.m. to the 500 block of East Fourth Street, and evidence at the scene reportedly showed shots had been fired.

No victims have been found, and the case is under investigation, said Police Department Lt. Jeff Strom.

The eastern part of the property was cordoned off after the report.

“This incident is under investigation by the Albert Lea Police Department,” said Lanier Pratt, the apartment building’s property manager. “What we do know is that none of our tenants or their guests were involved in this incident.

“We are cooperating fully with the investigation.”

There was reportedly at least one witness to the incident.
