Rodney Fielding, 1939-2017

Memorial services for Rodney A. Fielding of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service chapel. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea area veterans groups. Interment will take place at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Rodney died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea. He was 78.
Rodney was born March 1, 1939, in Minot, North Dakota, the son of Ralance and Mildred (Brabandt) Pfeilscheifter. He graduated from high school in Velma, North Dakota. On Jan. 9, 1961, he was united in marriage to Carol Gatlin in Georgia.
Rodney served in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1977. He worked for Raytheon Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, for many years as an electrician. After retirement, they built their retirement home in Woodland Park, Colorado. He spent the last eight years in Albert Lea.
Rodney loved to play golf and go downhill skiing.
He is survived by his son, Scott (Jamie) Fielding of Albert Lea; grandson, Casey Tabor; great-grandsons Carter and Robert Tabor; brother, Kenny Pfeilscheifter of Bullhead City, Arizona; sisters Donna Rae (Sonny Honrud) Pretzer of Bismarck, North Dakota; Linda (Dennis) Abel of Bismarck; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carol, in 2014.
