Lori Lebeck, 1963-2018
Published 1:00 am Friday, January 12, 2018
Lori Jean Lebeck, 54, of Minnetonka passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, amongst her family, friends and children. She had a long fight with cancer and battled it with every piece of strength she had in her. She came to Arizona to visit her children Alec and Marisa for the holidays, was hospitalized for a couple weeks and then moved to hospice care, where she passed hours later.
Lori was born Jan. 22, 1963, in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School.
Lori loved being outside, listening and singing to her favorite music, and especially talking about and spending time with her kids. She was an amazing mother to two kids, Marisa and Alec, whom she cherished with every ounce in her. Lori was an inspiration to many — the typical life expectancy for the specific cancer she was diagnosed with was three to six months, yet she lived over 3 1/2 years. Even among her own battles, she was still her kind, loving and uplifting self to others going through their own battles. She truly put others first, even when she was battling so much herself.
She is survived by her children Alec Lebeck (Devin O’Brien) and Marisa Londo; her two sisters, Brenda (David) Dickman and Julie (Bert Hoffman) Prust; brother, Alan (Kim) Lebeck; mother, Betty Knutson; nieces and nephews Rachel Dickman, Megan Dickman, Nathan Prust, Kayla (Joe) Neubauer, Laura Prust and Stacia Lebeck; her children’s godmother, Cheryl Weber; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edson Lebeck; and grandparents Edwin and Myrtle Lebeck and Clarence and Hazel Krueger.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Humphrey Cancer Center and Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn for all of their compassion.
The celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 22. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hosanna Chapel, 9600 W. 163rd St., Lakeville MN 55044. Refreshments and dessert will follow.
