Marilyn Janssen, 1936-2018

Funeral services for Marilyn J. Janssen of Albert Lea will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Marilyn died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community in Albert Lea. She was 81.
Marilyn was born Aug. 31, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of William (Fred) and Evelyn (Peterson) Carson. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School.
On Jan. 17, 1958, she was united in marriage to Ray Janssen in Albert Lea.
Marilyn lived most of her life in Albert Lea and a short time in St. Paul. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and had been employed for over 25 years at Church Offset Printing in Albert Lea.
Marilyn was a member of the Harley Owners Group and enjoyed riding with her husband. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters Jeanne (Jim) Forman of Burnsville, Deb (Jim) Hefte of Rochester and Julie Janssen of Albert Lea; grandchildren Michelle (Ricardo) Muggli, Holly (Scott) Petersen, Chris (Lindsay) Forman, Caitlin Marcaccini, Sam Hefte, Codie Janssen and Chelsea Janssen; and nine beloved great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Valerie (Chuck) Wilson, of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law Wilhelmine Janssen of Grenada and Bonnie Carson of Albert Lea; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray, in 2012; and brother, Ronnie Carson.
