Mary Jean, 1959-2018

Mary J. Jean, 58, of Mankato died unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at her home.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive in North Mankato. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Northview and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Mary was born on February 18, 1959 in Albert Lea to George and Fern (Nelson) Hendrickson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and Minnesota State Univeristy – Mankato. On August 6, 1983, Mary was united in marriage to Tom Jean in Albert Lea. She was an elementary teacher in Nicollet Public Schools from 1986 until she retired in 2016. After retirement, Mary was a substitute in the schools. Mary was a member of the Delta Zeta service sorority for 17 years and was on a bowling league. She enjoyed vacations with friends and family.
Mary is survived by her husband, Tom; sons, Eric (Tracey) Jean and Brian Jean; grandchildren, Morgan and Kara; siblings, Susan (Lowell) Syverson, James (Mary) Hendrickson, Andrew (Kim) Hendrickson, Peter (Diane) Moore, and John (Jenny) Edwin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
