The celebration of life for Eunice D. Bolinger will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Eileen Woyen will officiate. Interment will be led by Anthony Villerreal following the service at Graceland Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome for a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Eunice gained her angel wings Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, entering the gates of heaven at 11:10 a.m. surrounded by family. She battled multiple myeloma courageously with a smile on her face for 14 months.
She was born June 14, 1954, at Naeve Hospital in Albet Lea, the daughter of John Edward and Mary Lou Brenke.
She was baptized in Henderson, attended Sunday school and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. She attended and graduated from Albert Lea Central High in 1972. She attended Albert Lea Vo-Tech following high school.
She later was united in marriage to John (Jack) Bolinger in 1975; from this union three children were brought to this world. Throughout her life, she touched many lives and her main focus was her children and grandchildren. She had three biological children, but was “Mom” to many. Her door was always open to whomever in need. She took pride in being the No. 1 cheerleader, whether it be school-related or sporting events — she was always there with her smile.
She enjoyed decorating for the holidays and spending time with friends and family. An area where she excelled was caring for people; she spent 19 years working for Elm Homes, caring for the mentally and physically challenged. She received many awards for her expertise and kindness in her many years of service.
Survivors included daughter, Danielle (Damian) Bure, and children Desmond and McKenzie, Ryleigh, Laynie and Tyler; son, Justin, and his son, Gavin, son, Cody, and Katie and children Brynley, Brycin, Braydin, Serenity, and Korah. Also surviving are mother, Mary Brenke; sister, Roxanne Brua, her son, Travis, and her grandchildren Zaden and Korah; sister, Deb Chodur (Gary), and children Nathan and Sara; brother, Steven (Rose) Brenke, and children Chawn and Amber Rose; brother, Darrell Brenke, and child, Daryl, Jan Brenke; sister, Darla (Graden) Nelson, and children David, Anthony and Colton; and sister, Connie (Jerome) Gibson, and children Blake, Adison, Veronica and Jefferson. She is also survived by JJ (her fur baby).
Eunice was preceded in death by her father, John Edward “Jack” Brenke; grandparents Eugene and Thelma Bolinger; nephew, Mitch Brua; brother-in-law, Steve Brua; sister-in-law, Diane Broitzman; brother-in-law, Dale Bolinger; and special friends and family.
She will be forever remembered for her gift of visiting, kindness and infectious laugh and smile.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
