Bellisio Foods Inc. announced plans to close its operations in Austin in early April 2018, according to a press release.

The Austin facility currently co-manufactures frozen food products for retail, restaurant and foodservice companies.

Bellisio Foods will consolidate operations at other company-owned facilities in Ohio and California to improve efficiencies and better serve the company’s customers.

Approximately 100 employees will be affected by the Austin plant closing. Employees were notified last week and will be provided outplacement assistance and other support.

The facility will be offered for sale. Bellisio Foods purchased the plant in 2013 from Austin Packaging Co.
