PACER Center will offer Supplemental Security Income: First Steps, a free workshop for parents of youth with disabilities, according to a press release.

The workshop will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Feb. 27 at Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative, 2800 First Ave. N.W. in Faribault.

The workshop will provide basic information on applying for supplemental security income. How SSI can help a youth meet their postsecondary education, training, employment and independent living goals will be explained, including examples of receiving benefits while working or going to school.

Joani Werner, Social Security representative, will provide information at the workshop.
