Women’s health symposium planned

Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea will offer a Women’s Health and Well-Being Symposium on April 7 at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club in Albert Lea.

According to a press release, attendees will be encouraged to take time for themselves and learn how resiliency can positively impact mental and physical health at symposium.

Mayo Clinic experts will educate event-goers on topics related to work-life balance, gratitude, compassion and self-care, according to a press release.

The keynote speaker will be Sarah Stinson, a licensed professional counselor at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. Stinson, a facilitator in the stress management and resiliency training at Mayo Clinic, will present Ingredients to a Happy, Healthy Life.

Additional presenters include Tyler Oesterle, a psychiatrist with Fountain Centers in Albert Lea, who will discuss unique mental health issues women may experience stemming from addiction.

Carol Gardner, a certified women’s health physical therapist at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, will also provide tips for calming physical pain induced by stressful situations, according to the release.

The free symposium is from 9 to 11 a.m. Complementary breakfast will be served. Registration and breakfast will start at 8:30 a.m. Due to limited seating, registration is required. Register at 507-668-2300.
