Joyce Flink, 1957-2018

Joyce D. Flink, 60, of Albert Lea, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 12, 2018, surrounded by her family at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, St. Marys campus. Joyce Diane was born May 30, 1957, in Austin to Elmer and Dorothy (Bender) Lee. She grew up in Austin and graduated with the class of 1976 from Austin High School. On March 11, 1978, she was united in marriage to James Perry Flink at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. Joyce and Jim were married for 40 wonderful years, and to this union two sons were born. Joyce was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family in Albert Lea. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Joyce enjoyed bowling, needlework and scrapbooking for her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Joyce is survived by her husband, James, of Albert Lea; sons Jeremy E. Flink and Jeffrey (Kelly) Flink; and her grandchildren Jarrett, Joselyn and Holger, all of Albert Lea; stepmother, Phyllis Lee, of Austin; siblings Judy (Donald) Jacobsen of Austin, Edwin (Judy) Lee of Bixby, Sheila Blacketer of Rochester, Shirley (Rick) Nelson of Austin, Dennis Lee of Waseca, Dale (Julie) Lee of Madison Lake, David (Brenda) Lee of Waseca; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Worlein Funeral Home chapel in Austin. The Flink family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Private interment will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
