I was encouraged to see the recent news story regarding Albert Lea’s largest employer, Mayo Clinic, announce it is posting over 100 open positions between the Albert Lea and Austin campuses. I’m happy to see Mayo Clinic seems to be more inclined to share its internal planning, not only with its staff, but with the community as well. I urge our community to see this as a positive step by Mayo Clinic, to be a committed partner and better communicator to our community. I’m hopeful that we can begin the healing process and work with Mayo Clinic to move our community forward in a beneficial way for all of us. We should be celebrating this good news — together.
