New members elected to TV board

KSMQ Public Television has elected two new members to serve on its board of directors, according to a press release. Joining the governing board are Laura Beasley and Kari Bunkers.

Beasley is associate dean of Allied Health and director of nursing programs at Riverland Community College in Austin. Among her management duties at Riverland, Beasley maintains relationships with health industry partners, oversees the Allied Health programs and is responsible for maintaining accreditation of the nursing and medical assistant programs. She holds a master’s degree in nursing education from Keuka College in Penn Yan, New York.

Bunkers is medical director of population health management at Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Health System. She is also a family medicine physician at Mayo Clinic Health System in Owatonna and an assistant professor of family medicine with Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.  Bunkers is a graduate of the University of Minnesota medical school. In 2013, Bunkers was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, where she completed her undergraduate studies.
