Duplicate Bridge

Duplicate Bridge was played by 13 teams on May 8 at the Austin Senior Center. Winners were Loren Cleland and Dave Ring, first place; Jim Fisher and Dave Solomonson, second place; Joyce Crowe and Millie Seiver, third place; Edna Knobbe and Kathy Liesen and Lorraine Lippert and Ron Peters, tied for fourth place; and Lorraine Quinlivan and Barb Rofshus, sixth place.

Duplicate Bridge was played by nine teams on May 9 at the Austin Senior Center. Winners were Vandy Newman and Ron Peters, first place; Dave Ring and Orrin Roisen, second place; Barb Engebretson and Eunice Michaelis, third place; and Loren Cleland and Bud Higgins, fourth place.

Duplicate Bridge is played at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and noon on Wednesdays. Players come from Adams, Austin, Albert Lea, Rose Creek, Northwood and Mason City. All bridge players are welcome to come and play. Those who need a partner may call 437-2750.

 

TOPS MN Chapter 979

TOPS MN Chapter 979 announced its March and April division winners.

March division winners were Shirley Schuster, Division 3; Betty Johnson, Division 4; Darlene Kenison, Division 5; and Daniel Wirkus, male division.

Quarterly division winners were Schuster, Division 3; Mary Louise Wirkus, Division 4; Kenison, Division 5; and Daniel Wirkus, male division.

KOPS in Black were Ardis Bang, Peggy Indrelie and Nancy Jenson.

Weekly Best Loser was Janice Schroeder, week one; Aiesha Heard, Rosie Leegaard, Johnson and Mary Louise Wirkus, week two; Heard, week three; Betty Hanson, week four; and Daniel Wirkus, week five.

Four-star winner was Heard.

The group had a fruit shower for Jenson and a coin shower for Bang.

April division winners were LeAnn Jones and Leegaard, Division 3; Betty Gavle, Division 4; Fern Rockwell, Division 5; and Daniel Wirkus, male division.

Weekly Best Losers were Katie Koziolek, week one; Rockwell and Elayne Wichmann, week two; and Leegaard, week four.

The group had a veggie shower for Indrelie and a fruit shower for Leegaard.

Holiday contest winners were Leegaard, $3; Schuster, $2; and Koziolek, Frieda Johannsen, Kenison, Janice Schroeder, Wichmann, Daniel Wirkus and Jones, $1. KOPS winners Bang and Jenson, $2.

Guess What Contest winners were Jenson, 18 points, first place; and Johannsen and Leegaard, 15 points, second place.
