Funeral services for Pamela Helmers will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea.

Pamela Helmers, 75, passed away at her home near Albert Lea on Friday, May 25, 2018.

Pamela was born Dec. 28, 1942, in Austin to parents Dale and Elvira (Sibilrud) Shoemaker. She went to Shaw and Banfield elementary schools in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1961. She married Ronald Ray Helmers on March 30, 1963, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. He passed away in 1987.

Pamela worked at Land O’ Lakes for 10 years and Sundance Photo for 15 years. She also worked for a nursing home for six years. Over the course of 10 years, Pamela took care of 25 total foster kids. She always loved animals. She also had a home in Branson, Missouri, which she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; mom and dad; brother, Cori Shoemaker; and a niece, Lani. She is survived by her son, Jacob Helmers; brother, Ron Shoemaker; granddaughter, Alexis Tasker, and grandson, Braxton Helmers.
