Thank you to everybody who made the Friends of the Library spring book sale a big success. We raised $1,912.77 from sales of books and memberships. The proceeds, together with donations and Fountain Lake Bookstore earnings, support extra programs and supplies at the Albert Lea Public Library.

We want to give special thanks to Janelle VanEngelenburg and her Sentence-To-Serve crew, the city of Albert Lea, Michelle Gurung and many Friends volunteers for their efforts on behalf of this event. We also appreciate continuing generous donations of books in good condition from area residents.

The Fountain Lake Bookstore is located in the basement of City Hall and staffed by volunteers Monday through Thursday year-round. Outside of bookstore hours, books can be purchased using the payment box near the bookshelves. A blue bin at the bottom of the stairway is available for book donations.

Be sure to check out the Great American Read program and the excellent lineup of children’s programming at the library this summer. We hope to see you at our next sale in October.
