A high-risk predatory offender is expected to be released from prison and move into Wells July 9, according to a notification on Friday by the Wells Police Department.

Thomas Duane Eckert, 44, is expected to move to the area of 10th Street Southeast and Fourth Avenue Southeast.

Eckert, a Level 3 offender, is described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 156 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

According to the information sheet, Eckert has a history of sexual contact with boys and girls ages 6 to 11. Contact included sexual touching and penetration. He was known to his victims and provided alcohol to one.
