Freeborn County 4-H and the Albert Lea Farmers Market will partner to provide youth activities geared to 5- to 10-year-olds related to the subjects of gardening and healthy foods. The events will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month through the month of September at the North Broadway parking lot.
The Power of Produce Club will also continue this summer. Youth will receive a $2 token to purchase fresh produce from the farmers market.
Participants only need to register once for the free program and will then receive a POP passport postcard so children can come back each week to get more tokens.
Tokens are available during the farmers market on Wednesdays at the downtown location or on Saturdays at Northbridge Mall.
