Albert Lea Community Theatre has announced its 2018–19 season, according to a press release.

ACT will open its 54th season with “Forbidden Broadway,” a musical comedy revue created and written by Gerard Alessandrini and directed by Rory Mattson, from Oct. 18-27. In the long-running Off-Broadway hit musical revue, Broadway’s greatest musical legends meet Broadway’s greatest satirist in this hilarious, loving and endlessly entertaining tribute to some of theater’s greatest stars and songwriters, according to a press release. Performers will parody popular show tunes, actors, characters and plots of some of Broadway’s biggest hits, such as “Chicago,” “Annie,” “Wicked,” “Into the Woods,” “Spamalot,” “Mama Mia” and many more.

“The Mousetrap,” a drama mystery by Agatha Christie and directed by Brian Mattson, will run Feb. 14-23. A group of strangers is stranded in a boarding house during a snowstorm, one of whom is a murderer. A full slate of suspects is present, and into their midst comes a policeman, traveling on skis. To get to the rationale of the killer’s pattern, the policeman probes the background of everyone present and rattles a lot of skeletons.
