County financial report released

The state of Minnesota’s Office of the State Auditor has recently completed the 2017 audit of Freeborn County, according to a press release.

The primary purpose of the annual audit is to formulate opinions on Freeborn County’s financial statement. The state auditor also has the responsibility and commitment to assist the county to maintain and improve the county’s financial management system.

The Office of the State Auditor issued an unmodified opinion on the 2017 Freeborn County financial statement. An unmodified opinion means that, in the professional opinion of the state auditors, the financial statements are fairly presented and conform to applicable accounting standards.
