The Alliant Energy Foundation will accept grant applications from Iowa nonprofits through Sept. 1. Grants average about $2,000 and winners will be notified by Nov. 1.

According to a press release, projects must share one of the foundation’s key focus areas: families, education or environment. Past projects to receive grants include mentoring programs, meal and nutrition programs, reading and literacy initiatives, dairy and agriculture education, STEM camps and nature trail restoration projects, among others.
