The city of Albert Lea is discriminating in the enforcement of Minnesota Statute 18.76-18.88 (Minnesota noxious weed laws) and Albert Lea Municipal Code 70.1 Section 38.201 to Section 38.211 (public nuisances).

Joe the ragman had better have his property in compliance with the above statute and ordinance. If not, the city will come down on him swiftly and harshly.

St. John’s on the lake, however, can let the thistles and weeds grow and propagate without fear of enforcement.

You can call and leave a voice mail message with the police department community liaison officer and the city manager’s secretary and never receive a response.
