Letter: Thanks to the man who helped

Today when my son and I were leaving Walmart, I was upset to discover that the battery of my pickup was dead. I did not have jumper cables or a battery pack, and my husband was at work 15 miles away. I called him at work anyway, in need of a mechanic’s touch to figure out what was going on. It pretty much came down to he’d have to jump-start it, and we’ll figure it out later.

A kind grandfather and his two young grandsons happened to be walking past while I was on the phone with the hood up. He asked if I needed some help and offered to jump-start my pickup. Thankfully we got it started easily!

I didn’t get the gentleman’s name who helped me, but I want to thank him again for his help, and for setting such a wonderful example for my son and his grandsons. It’s great to know that there are still good people out there that help others just because it’s the right thing to do.
