Level 3 offender charged with DANCO violation

An Albert Lea Level 3 offender was charged with a misdemeanor Friday in Freeborn County District Court.

Cody Padraic Trott, 28, is charged with a domestic abuse no-contact order violation.

The incident reportedly occurred at 9:17 a.m. Thursday at 15322 745th Ave.

According to a citation, an officer believed “an offense was committed in a manner that endangered person or property or was likely to endanger any person or property.”

Trott pleaded not guilty to the charge Friday.

Freeborn County Judge Steven Schwab set unconditional bail at $10,000.

A pre-trial criminal domestic abuse no-contact order was issued in the file.

A settlement conference is scheduled for Sept. 20.

In a separate file, Trott is charged with felonies domestic assault by strangulation, threats of violence and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and gross misdemeanors fifth-degree controlled substance possession and domestic assault.

Schwab set conditional bail in that file at $25,000.

A plea hearing is scheduled for July 30.

In a third file, Trott is charged with 17 domestic abuse no-contact order violations. He pleaded not guilty in those files June 21.

A pre-trial hearing in that file is scheduled for Oct. 5, and a jury trial is scheduled to start Oct. 9, if the case has not been settled by then.

Schwab set unconditional bail in that file at $6,000.

As of Friday afternoon, Trott was in custody.
