The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is notifying consumers of an allergy alert for undeclared allergens in Kowalski’s brand Kalbi Rub and TeaSource brand Roasted Chestnut Tea. The label on the spice blend did not declare wheat as an ingredient and the tea bag did not declare tree nuts as an ingredient.

The Kalbi Rub is sold in 5.5-oz bottles. The product was recalled on July 13.

The Roasted Chestnut Tea was produced and packaged by TeaSource of Roseville. The product is sold as loose tea in 2-ounce, 4-ounce and 1-pound bags. TeaSource has voluntarily recalled this product.

State officials are not aware of any illnesses associated with these products, but people who have sensitivity to wheat or tree nuts should be aware of the inclusion of these ingredients in the products.

The rub was produced and distributed through July 13, and the tea was distributed through July 24. Both of these products labels have since been corrected.

Consumers with allergen concerns who purchased Kalbi Rub from Kowalski’s may discard the product or return it to the store where purchased for a full refund. Those who purchased TeaSource brand Roasted Chestnut Tea are advised to discard the product.
