Despite falling in its final game of the regular season, the Albert Lea American Legion Post 56 baseball team still managed to draw a No. 4 seed and a home game in the first round of the sub-state tournament.

As host of this year’s sub-state tournament, Albert Lea will host all games after the first round of play at Hayek Field.

Albert Lea will take on Winona in the first round, starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

As a double elimination tournament, the losing teams will fall to the losers bracket starting on Friday and winners advance to play Thursday.

The championship game will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday with the winning team advancing to the state tournament held in Edina the week of August 2-5.
