Show support for nonprofits year-round

It’s not uncommon to hear about the need to donate to nonprofits during the holidays or at the end of the year. In reality, however, the need exists all year.

Whether it’s the Albert Lea Salvation Army, which provides food, clothing and other relief to families in need; the United Way of Freeborn County, which works with multiple organizations to meet needs in our community; Senior Resources, which strengthens seniors; or the Arc of Freeborn County, which works with residents in the area with developmental disabilities, these organizations do a lot of good.

And the list doesn’t stop there. There are many other nonprofits that help lift up the community.

There’s the Albert Lea Family Y, the Freeborn County Humane Society, Cedar Valley Services, The Children’s Center, Parenting Resource Center, Semcac, Youth for Christ and more.

Where would the community be without them?

We encourage you to find an organization that aligns with your beliefs and interests and show it your support — whether through money, as a volunteer or some other means.

There is sometimes a slump in giving at this time of year, and this will help give them a boost.

It feels good to give back and will give you a sense of fulfillment in helping others.
