Fern Good, 1929-2018

Memorial services for Fern M. Good, 89, of Albert Lea will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Community. The Rev. Don Malinsky will officiate. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.
Fern Maye Good went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Community. Family and friends all gathered to say their own goodbyes on the eve of her death. The nursing home staff also shared their goodbyes.
Fern was born Aug. 17, 1929, to Ralph and Myrtle Sorensen in Freeborn. She married Neil Good of Lamoure, North Dakota, in 1951. They lived in Moorhead before moving to North Dakota to take over farming for Neil’s father. She had two children, Linda and Lynn. Fern loved music and enjoyed playing piano and accordion. She loved to play and sing in church as well as for her own enjoyment. Fern received ribbons for her planted flower at the fair this year.
Fern is survived by her children, Lynn (Lyn) Sorensen and Linda Good; grandchildren Mary (Mike) Weidenbach, Lisa (David) Schultz, James (Jacque) Sorensen, Dean (Tara) Ketterling, Sherry Ketterling (Rob Samudio), David Ketterling (Stacy Wayne) and Doni (Megen) Ketterling; great-grandchildren Hannah Weidenbach, Corbin, Cameron and Turena Schultz, Jacob (Alli), Isaac, Levi and Caleb Sorensen, Dalten Ketterling, Alyssa Samudio and Dakota Ketterling.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents Myrtle and Ralph; and her husband, Neil.
The family would like to thank everyone from St. John’s Lutheran Community. Fern will be missed by many. May God bless you, as well.
