The trade issues have become the Trump administration against nations that have been given good deals by past administrations to get the deals done for political reasons. The deal was the goal and not a deal that gave U.S. business an even playing field. Now the administration has to battle a press that is hoping for failure in these negotiations. Have you noticed that every negative story talks about how the consumer in the USA is effected by tariffs but never about how these tariffs effect the other country? China’s economy is being slowed while ours is growing faster, but China hopes delaying negotiations will give our press an opportunity to affect our elections and bring politicians back to power who want the deal at any cost, no matter how bad it is for business. A Republican win in the upcoming election will bring these countries to the table to talk about deals good for both counties.
