On Aug. 14, U.S. Rep. Tim Walz became the DFL nominee for Minnesota governor. Since Walz announced his run for governor, it has been clear what his priorities are. Walz has not given the people of Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District a say in the U.S. House of Representatives 281 times since he announced his run for governor. We need a governor who will be there for Minnesota, and one we can rely on, even when a better job presents itself. Walz’s opponent, Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson, has always been there for the people of Hennepin County. Johnson has been there when needed since he announced his candidacy, and Jeff Johnson would clearly be a governor we can rely on to be there. Not to mention, Tim Walz has plans to increase taxes, legalize marijuana, resist the Trump agenda, let abortions be performed within a few months of birth and to turn Minnesota into a sanctuary state. Jeff Johnson, on the other hand, will support tax decreases on the state and federal levels, support President Trump when he is right, sign abortion restrictions into law and will enforce our current immigration laws. That is why I, a concerned citizen of the great state of Minnesota, ask you to vote for Jeff Johnson for governor on Election Day, Nov. 6, because we don’t want or need Tim Walz as our next governor.
