The pool of school board candidates dwindled by one as a filer withdrew from the election.

Ehsannah Paw withdrew her name on Thursday, Ashley Mattson, executive assistant to the Office of the Superintendent and School Board, confirmed. Mattson handled election filing for the district.

“I think that I’m not really the right person to be there,” Paw said.

Paw said personal concern about her own educational background made her worry she could not do the job.

“When I do something, I just want to do the best that I can,” she said.

This leaves seven candidates, including three incumbents, on the ballot for the November election. School board filing closed last week. Still on the ballot are Brian Anderson, Mark Ciota, Dennis Dieser, Dave Klatt, Jill Marin, Kim Nelson and Kalli Rittenhouse.
