Stabbing reported

A report of a woman stabbing someone she knew in the back was made at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of West Front Street and First Avenue. Albert Lea officers were reportedly dispatched regarding an assault with a knife. According to police, the incident was classified as a mental health issue, and the suspect was taken to the emergency room for a mental health evaluation.

The victim, who reportedly sustained an injury deemed not life-threatening, reportedly declined medical treatment.

The incident allegedly began after the victim tried to have a mental health evaluation done on the suspect, who is not expected to face charges.

 

4 cited for trespassing

Albert Lea police cited Cameron Alexander Mote, 28, Ricky Wayne Tochtrop, 20, Franklin James Brennan, 40, and Kenan Francis Ubersox, 39, for trespassing after suspicious people were reportedly on a water tower with others attempting to gain access at 11:12 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of East Fountain Street and North Newton Avenue. The names of two other people who were cited were not released.

 

Gas theft reported

A $10.14 gas drive-off was reported at 2:34 p.m. Tuesday at SuperAmerica, 23087 Minnesota Highway 13.

 

Inappropriate behavior reported

A report of a defendant becoming aggressive and yelling at a judge due to bail and conditions of release was made at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday at 411 S. Broadway Ave. The defendant reportedly refused to leave, and deputies forcibly removed him from the courtroom into a holding center. The incident report has been sent to the Freeborn County Attorney’s Office for possible charges.

A report of a man in his mid-60s displaying inappropriate sexual behavior toward young girls was made at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday. The incidents allegedly occurred Saturday night at the Freeborn County Fair.
