3 Wells motorcyclists injured near Henderson

Three motorcyclists from Wells were injured Saturday afternoon when they collided on Minnesota Highway 19 in Sibley County.
Terry Lee Roberts, 68, Todd Martin Lutteke, 54, and Ryan Lee Peterson, 45, received injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Roberts and Peterson were taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, and Lutteke was not taken to the hospital.
The report stated the men were part of a group of motorcycles traveling westbound on Highway 19 shortly before 3 p.m. The driver of one of the rear motorcycles in the group accelerated to pass and collided with a motorcycle in the middle of the group before crashing into the lead motorcycle in the group near the road’s intersection with Sibley County Road 62.
The report did not specify which rider tried to pass.
The men were not wearing helmets, and alcohol was not a factor, according to the State Patrol.
The road was dry at the time of the crash.
