The report stated the men were part of a group of motorcycles traveling westbound on Highway 19 shortly before 3 p.m. The driver of one of the rear motorcycles in the group accelerated to pass and collided with a motorcycle in the middle of the group before crashing into the lead motorcycle in the group near the road’s intersection with Sibley County Road 62.

The report did not specify which rider tried to pass.

The men were not wearing helmets, and alcohol was not a factor, according to the State Patrol.

The road was dry at the time of the crash.
