Central Freeborn Lutheran Church will host a soup and dessert supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 24. According to a press release, homemade soups will include wild rice, chili, potato and chicken noodle. Gluten free options will also be available.

The cost will be $8 for adults, children 6 to 12 are $4 and children 5 and under are free.

Proceeds will benefit Heidi (Morreim) DuBois, a wife and mother of three who is fighting cancer; and Tim Bakken, a medical missionary at Ebenezer Glenn Orphanage in Haiti.

Those who attend are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to support the local food shelves.
