The city of Albert Lea this week announced its fall hours for the Albert Lea Transfer Station and Demolition Landfill.

Fall hours run from Oct. 1 through Nov. 30.

The transfer station and landfill will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Services offered include household garbage disposal, demolition debris disposal, brush disposal, yard waste composting, electronics recycling, appliance recycling, used oil recycling, scrap metal recycling, cardboard and paper recycling and glass/can recycling.

Compost disposal requires a compost permit. The 2018 permit is green. Permits must be visibly placed on your windshield when using the site. These permits allow unlimited use of the compost site for the calendar year and will be available for purchase at the transfer station and city hall.
