Dorothy C. Wilde, 98, of Albert Lea, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault. Interment will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Dorothy Carol, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Torkelson) Christensen, was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Faribault. She attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1937. On Oct. 4, 1939, she was united in marriage to Francis H. Wilde. Together they farmed on several farms in the Northfield and Faribault area.

Francis preceded her in death on May 31, 1970.

Dorothy worked as a hospital aide at the Faribault State School and Hospital, retiring after 25 years of employment. She volunteered for 18 years with the Foster Grandparent Program, receiving awards for her volunteerism. She enjoyed attending church, Christian Bible studies and visiting with friends and family. Most of all she loved her children.

Dorothy is survived by her son, James (Cheryl) Wilde; grandchildren, Lawrence St. Martin, Ron (Valerie) St. Martin, Robert (Cathy) Wilde, TammyDee (Donnie) Jindra and Jeff Schroeder; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; daughters Wanda Helling and Marian Campbell; parents Peter and Anna; brothers Walter, Alfred, Raymond and Milo Christensen; and grandson, Timothy David Schroeder.
