Albert Lea’s own Civic Music Association is celebrating its 73rd season of bringing nationally and internationally known musicians to our local area.

Season tickets are only $45 for a total of 14 concerts performed during September through April. Five performances will be at Albert Lea High School; plus, through a reciprocity agreement with  neighboring communities, five more in Austin and four in Clear Lake. A family ticket is $95 — reasonable entertainment for the entire family.

Years ago, the Albert Lea area supported annual sales of nearly 1,000 tickets; over the past few years, sales have dipped down to near 400. The concept of bringing wonderfully talented musicians from all over the world to a local venue is unique, and I encourage more people to give it a try. As a business owner and community member, supporting activities such as this enriches our lives and makes Albert Lea a more attractive destination.

To accommodate  more seniors, we have easy access available via the cafeteria door on the east and the Tiger Door on the west side of the school. Check out this season’s performances on our website and then invite your family and friends. Civic Music is a wonderful part of our history; let’s try to fill the auditorium again and show support for this unique cultural opportunity.
