Lake Mills woman one of four injured in Faribault County crash

A Lake Mills woman was one of four people injured Monday when her vehicle was rear-ended by another on U.S. Highway 169 in Blue Earth County.

Kassandra Ramirez, 25, was taken to United Hospital District in Blue Earth with at least one injury deemed not life-threatening.

Ramirez was driving a 2016 Hyundai Elantra and Maurice Allen Walker, 81, was driving a 2008 Chevy Equinox south on Highway 169 when the Equinox rear-ended the Elantra at about 5:50 p.m. in Verona Township, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Walker and his passenger, Sharon Joanne Walker, 77, of Winnebago were taken to United Hospital District in Blue Earth, along with the passenger in the Elantra, Stephanie Rivas, 23, of Blue Earth. All had injuries deemed not life-threatening.

Roads were dry at the time of the crash.

Blue Earth fire, ambulance and police crews; Winnebago police and ambulance crews; and Faribault County Sheriff’s Office assisted the State Patrol.

Alcohol was not factor in the crash, and all involved were wearing their seat belts, the report states.
