Albert Lea residents got their first look at the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter at 1550 Blake Ave. Friday.

A reopening ceremony was at the store.

Store improvements include:

State-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays

Updated Walmart MoneyCenter with a new look

Refreshed pharmacy with new consultation room

New tool department with a new look and added variety of tools

Addition of self-checkouts at the front of the store to save customers time

Updated apparel departments with new signage and fitting rooms

New Walmart pickup kiosk available to increase convenience

New layout and larger assortment in home department

“We’re always looking for ways to make our customers’ lives easier,” said Store Manager Patrick Hanson. “We’re excited for everyone to come see how we are helping give time back to our customers with a new and improved shopping experience.”

During the event, the store presented donations to a variety of organizations including the Albert Lea Farmers Market, the Albert Lea Shop with a Cop Police Department Program and Halverson Elementary School.
