Author Karl Schaper will speak during an educational program and luncheon fundraiser at Bolan Schoolhouse & Cultural Center on Sunday.

The luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the lower level. According to a press release, soup, sandwiches and bars will be available for $6.

Schaper will speak at 1:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted to hear his presentation.

Schaper, who immigrated to the U.S. from Germany, will speak for about an hour about his time as a teenager in Germany during Adolph Hitler’s domination, World War II and the Iron Curtain.

He will share true stories of his own personal experiences and those he witnessed, the release states.
