State Rep. Peggy Bennett, R-Albert Lea, was honored by fellow Minnesota House Republicans recently as they elected her assistant minority leader for the 2019-20 biennium.
As an assistant leader, Bennett will help develop legislative policy for House Republicans, as well as assist in crafting political vision.
“I am excited to join the House Republican leadership team, and am looking forward to promoting our work that seeks to lower health care costs, utilize the budget surplus to give working families the financial break they need through tax relief and keep our economy headed in a positive direction,” Bennett said.
Bennett was recently elected to her third term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. She is a retired school teacher who lives in Albert Lea. Bennett represents Minnesota House District 27A, which includes almost all of Freeborn County, along with parts of Faribault, Mower, Steele and Dodge counties.
