SMIF seeks nominations

Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation has launched a new process to seek nominations for its board of trustees. Two to three new trustees will be elected to begin their first term July 1 to June 30, 2020. Trustees can serve up to three two-year terms.

The board of trustees provides leadership, strategic direction and oversight to SMIF and maximizes the organization’s ability to achieve its mission of strengthening southern Minnesota communities and businesses by acting as foundation representatives and advocates in their community and with current and potential partners.

Self-nominations or nominations made on another’s behalf will be accepted as long as nominees are aware and have expressed an interest in potential board service. SMIF is committed to finding diverse candidates that represent the region by (but not limited to) age, ethnicity, areas of expertise/sector representation, gender and geography, as SMIF serves 20 counties.
