VaLois Hallum, 1924-2018

Memorial services for VaLois Hallum, 94, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at West Freeborn Lutheran Church. The Rev. Steven Schwartz will officiate. VaLois Hallum

VaLois died Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Community.

VaLois Hallum was born July 17, 1924, in Albert Lea, the daughter of George and Rhoda (Talle) Hallum. She grew up on a farm east of Freeborn and attended school in Freeborn. She worked for First State Bank of Freeborn — now Farmers State Bank of Hartland — for 33 years. She was a lifetime member of West Freeborn Lutheran Church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. VaLois enjoyed reading, puzzles, watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, and used to be an avid bowler.

VaLois is survived by sisters-in-law Mary Hallum and Jeanne Hallum; niece, Linda (Bob) Korman, and their children Jesse Korman and Cody Korman; and nephew, Doug (Tami) Hallum, and their children Tanner Haberman, Justin (Jackie) Jahnke and Angela (Dan) Brown.

VaLois was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jim Hallum and Roger Hallum; niece, Joann Hallum; and nephew, Christopher Hallum.
