Halverson and Hawthorne Elementary schools.

Favorite teacher of all time and why?

Steven Alford, because he pushed me even when I wanted to give up. He always does as much as he can to encourage me, teach me and be there for me. He works great with students and helps them even when he is working in a subject he has to learn about. He figures it out and continues to learn along with his students. He is a great and wonderful teacher and an overall great person.

Favorite book and author:

“The Great Alone” is my favorite book by Kristin Hannah, but my favorite author is Jodi Picoult.

Current/past activities, volunteer work and accomplishments:

I attended a writing workshop in Mankato a few weeks ago; I also attended a youth trip with my church this fall to Duluth.

What do you want to do after high school?

I want to go to college and become a prenatal nurse.

What advice would you give to younger students in Albert Lea?

To continue pushing forward even when life gets you down, it will all be worth it in the end.
