The Lake Mills wrestling team competed in Manly Thursday night and won all three conference dual meets.
The first dual of the night was against North Union, and Lake Mills rolled to a 75-0 win.
“The dual against North Union was pretty quick,” said head coach Alex Brandenburg. “Our kids were aggressive and picked up a lot of quick pins.”
In the second meet, the Bulldogs took on a solid Central Springs team. The meet featured six or seven matches considered toss ups, and the crowd was treated to some great back and forth matches. In the end, Lake Mills would come out on top, 48-21.
“Central Springs has some very good young kids to go along was some seasoned veterans,” Brandenburg said. “Our team did a nice job getting up for the meet and getting the job done.”
In the final dual of the night, the Bulldogs handled St. Ansgar, 71-12, behind a solid eight pins and a technical fall.
“Our wrestlers wrestled aggressively and went for the pins in the St. Ansgar dual,” Brandenburg said. “It is important for us to improve on getting pins and fighting off pins if we want to do well in the postseason.”
Many Bulldogs individuals finished the night with a personal 3-0 showing, including Jimmy Gallardo, Tyler Helgeson, Kyle Beery, Caiden Jones, Ashten Love, Elijah Wagner, Zack Wagner, Max Johnson and Nate Lorenson.
